When white poly wins
Poly is the workhorse. It is the lightest and usually the cheapest, it shrugs off a rainy porch, and vivid full-color artwork pops on the smooth white surface. If you ship high volumes of soft goods and want maximum protection-per-cent with a clean, modern look, poly is the default for good reasons.
When kraft wins
Kraft is about feel and story. The paper exterior reads natural and considered the moment it hits a doormat, it takes ink with a warm matte finish that flatters logos and line art, and it is curbside recyclable — often the deciding factor for boutiques, makers, and clean-beauty brands whose customers care where the packaging ends up.
The honest tie-breaker
If protection from moisture and lowest cost matter most, choose poly. If tactile brand impression and recyclability matter most, choose kraft. And if you want the kraft look with compostable end-of-life, that is a third option worth a conversation.
